Energon Landquake

Yeah… I’ve got nothing.

Landquake’s an Ultra class figure from the 2005 Transformers line, Energon. It’s a straight up repaint of the orange colored Landmine.

Since I’ve got plenty of pics here, I’ll keep this brief.

First, let’s talk about LQ’s main gimmick, which is that he can combine with this crane platform thingy.

In vehicle mode, LQ’s a snowplow, and a very nice one at that. And combined with his crane thingy, he’s a bigass battle plow that is entirely successful and is very, very impressive. He’s totally visually striking and awesome and cool in this combined mode.

Transformation is neat. I give it a thumbs up. The crane platform can be a battle platform thingy while you’re at it.

Robot mode is very nice, and he’s quite large as well. Articulation is decent, but it’s the articulated feet that sets him apart. Combined with the platform, Landquake can achieve “Brute Mode”. Which looks okay, but since he doesn’t gain any significant height, it isn’t quite that impressive. He does look good though, but can feel a tad cumbersome.

Overall
All in all, a very successful toy and Transformer. Is he a must have? No. He’s good, in fact, in some ways he’s very good. But he’s not quite “great”. If you can grab him from a garage sale or flea market cheap, particularly complete with the platform, then he’s a good addition to your roster. But I’d avoid paying full secondary market prices for him.

Pros: Looks good in any mode.
Cons: Nothing that stands out.

3.2 out of 4.0

———————————–
0.0 – 0.0 = I’d pay to get rid of it
0.1 – 0.5 = I’d give it away
0.6 – 1.0 = I wouldn’t take it for free
1.1 – 1.5 = Very Bad
1.6 – 2.0 = Bad
2.1 – 2.5 = Average
2.6 – 3.0 = Good
3.1 – 3.5 = Very Good
3.6 – 4.0 = Excellent
