SIC Kiwami Tamashii Faiz: Blaster Form

Can you feel? Keep your real!

Part 1: Kamen Rider Faiz
Part 2: 555 Axel/Accel Form
Part 4: Phi’s Wrap-up

A little pricey but still affordable, this is a good toy and the most striking of the three SIC KT Faiz figures. Recommended.

SIC Kiwami Tamashii is a line that that reproduces Bandai’s SIC (Super Imaginative Chogokin) line in 3.75″/4″ scale. SIC in turn, is a line with hyper stylized realizations of various characters, mostly Kamen Rider. In this case, the titular protagonist of the 2003-2004 TV series Kamen Rider Faiz.

Like Axel Form, Blaster Form’s basic engineering and design are very close to Faiz. However, it is both more distinct yet similar.

Of course, a lot of this has to do with the color. A very pleasing yet striking shade of red. But there’s one other big dealie-do with Blaster Form that sets him apart from the regular Faiz. His chest armor has an angular shape, which coupled with his totally different color scheme, makes Blaster Form the Red Sheep of the trio.

Personally, I think he’s the best looking of the lot, as a standalone.

Functionally speaking, Blaster Form also comes with his backpack, which just as in the show, can open up a pair of micro-wings for flight or swing up and forward into a pair of shoulder mounted fully automatic guns.

The flip side is that his shoulder pads are slightly less well designed than on Faiz or Axel Form. Their tip extends just a tad too long, which restricts Blaster Form from fully raising his arms up to the sides. It’s nothing debilitating, but it does mean that regular Faiz has the highest range of motion out of all 3 Phi’s.

Alas, like Axel Form, one of Blaster’s knees is slightly loose and will require tightening up for improved toyeticality. Bleh.

Accessories are good but not as varied as with the other two. Mainly he comes with his Blaster, whose barrel can be replaced with an energy blade. Sadly, the Blaster can’t fold up into a suitcase, as in the show. Other than that, he’s got the usual extra pair of hands.

Just like the other two, Blaster Form is a great toy in this scale. He’s a little tall, but should still fit in with your Joes or Star Wars figures. A recommended toy, but the question is, which toy to recommend?

If you’re a casual collector and you just want to get one SIC KT Faiz figure to see what all the fuss is about, I’d recommend Blaster Form. He’s the most striking of the three.

However, if you have G.I. Joes and you want to fit one of these guys in, I’d recommend Faiz, followed by Axel Form, as their black color scheme makes it easier to fit them in with the semi-realistic Joes. If you have Star Wars figures, any of these guys will do. It’ll just depend on your aesthetic taste.

When you get down to it, this is a top tier toy for the small scale selection. A definite stand out winnah.

Pros: Great sculpt, paint and articulation. Reasonably durable. Very striking. A good all rounder.
Cons: Knee joints can be a little loose. Somewhat pricey.

Rank: A
